UCAN Healthy Families Program
UCAN oversees operation of the Healthy Families Program in Douglas, Klamath and Lake County. We operate the Douglas County Program. The goal of the Healthy Families Program is to prevent child abuse and neglect. Prior to or immediately after birth, parents are screened to determine eligibility for the program. All services are voluntary. Our program focuses on strengthening the parent-child relationship to assure healthy child growth and development. Home visitors help parents develop nurturing, positive relationships with their babies. Parents receive information about child development, infant care and keeping their baby healthy, and learn about resources to support their babies. Trained home visitors coach parents so that their baby is safe and healthy, able to learn and thrive. If you or your agency would like to learn more about this program, please contact our Program Supervisor, Judi Mahoney, at (541) 440-3642.
